So, I know it’s been about a week since the 56th Grammy Awards, but I’m still so obsessed with the fashion. I had the privilege of going this year, and was equally impressed with the fashion as I was with all of the performances.
My absolute favorite look of the night was…actually four looks, by the stunning pop singer, Katy Perry. Can we please talk about how gorgeous she was in the nude Valentino dress?! She looked like a goddess of music. It was absolutely wonderful on her. And the dark dress she wore for the “Dark Horse” performance was also amazing. I love that she rocked a dark dress (and show) so long after Halloween. The maroon dress she wore during the ceremony was so cute and playful. Maroon is one of the colors I’m really into this season, so I love that it’s still around (I was afraid it’d be gone after Christmas). Finally, there was the dreamy blue dress Miss Perry wore after the show. I love love love it. It looked complete perfect on her skin tone and body frame. And her the switching between her large curls and tight up-do to fit her outfits was flawless.
Another one of my favorite looks was Beyonce in Michael Costello. Seriously, it’s like that lacy ivory dress was made for her body. Queen Bey faced some criticism, because a few other people wore the new designer, but who cares? I had the pleasure of seeing Michael Costello’s pieces during the Style show at LA Fashion week this fall. All of his pieces are so sexy and elegant, but when I saw one of the pieces on the bootylicious singer, I was in awe. She really took this romantic nude and white dress to a new level.
Rita Ora looked dazzling at the Grammys as well. I ran into her in the bathroom and was totally star-struck. She glowed in the shimmering olive Lanvin dress. Her hair was flawlessly done like an Old Hollywood starlet. She was radiating beauty. I also love that she piled on the chunky rings and had fun, colorful nail art.
For a night so full of fashion and fun, of course I had to pick something sexy and trendy. I went with the edgy Black Rose dress from Love and Other Drugs (obviously I chose one of EyeCandyCouture’s flirty dresses). I styled it with a chucky dark necklace with large gems, black and white striped pumps, and a black studded clutch, for a 1990’s grunge/glamour look. It was the perfect dress for the occasion.
RED is definitely a color that we are seeing a lot more of in fashion everywhere from the runways to the streets.
And why not embrace it, red is the color most associate with danger, passion & beauty, I could do with a little more of each of those in my life.
Andrew J. Elliot says that:
“Red, relative to other achromatic and chromatic colors, leads men to view women as more attractive”. Red carries the meaning of sex and romance, and lust, therefore women often use red lipstick to heighten their attractiveness.
And Valentines Day is around the corner, so RED is definitely the color of the season.
There are lots of options with this primary color.
You can keep it monochromatic and make a statement by wearing RED from head to toe.
Even if red is not your color try just adding in a fun red accent piece to any outfit to tone it up. Red creates contrast so you don’t have to bother if it matches with anything else you are wearing.
Or go for a deeper tone of red like these wine colored number’s,
still a smashingly hot look with a little less of that in your face vibrance.
While I don’t exactly agree that red is then new black, come on now people, its called a little BLACK dress for a reason. Red is hot & it is here to stay so pucker up and put on that red lipstick and slip into that firey hot Dress. Check out a few of the options we have for you at EyeCandyCouture.com
It’s that time of year again when the snow starts falling, scarfs & mittens are staple for every look and the Starbucks peppermint mocha & pumpkin spice lattes runneth over.
Yep, the Holidays are here and that means so is Black Friday … How could I forget waking up before the sun rises and bundling up in so much clothes you look like a snowman to join the masses in a battle for the best deals and slashed prices ever offered.
